Cindy Nguyen
Co-Coach 16s Panther

Coach Cindy discovered her love and passion for volleyball over 13 years ago at the Honolulu’s Boys and Girls Club of America. She has a strong passion for the outdoors and various sports like surfing, golfing, tennis, snowboarding, indoor/outdoor skydiving and of course VOLLEYBALL! Cindy has played for numerous adult teams over the years and has placed top 3 in women’s doubles for her division in 2013, 2014, and 2016 at the Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament. Cindy also competes on various USAV women's teams, national 9-man tournaments with the DC Slackers (uniquely traditional street volleyball played by Chinese-Americans across the USA and Canada) and many other local outdoor tournaments throughout the summer.

She recently graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Public Health with a focus on epidemiology. Cindy has coached at Hazen High School and spent numerous volunteer hours helping fellow coaches over the years. This will be her fourth season with Moxie.

Her main focus as a coach is to provide and equip young athletes with the necessary high-level skills they’ll need to succeed in the game as well as life. The more an athlete plays the better they’ll be! By combining skill-based training along with real game scenarios, athletes will be able to improve their game exponentially. With a positive mindset, attitude and commitment nothing is unachievable. Volleyball is a team sport and in order for a team to be successful every member of the team must work to encourage, support, and push one another to reach success.

"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today."
