Cindy Goldner

Club Director, Head Coach 14s Team

I started my first year as a head coach for a 17s team at Northwest Juniors in 2000. I was the head coach at the Bush School for three seasons from 2000-2003. I also assisted the 16s team at WVBA for a couple of years in 2001 and 2002. I assisted the 17s and 18s teams with WVBA from 2003-2004, while also head coaching the JV team at Eastlake for one season in 2004. After a very short break, I stepped back into coaching club with Sudden Impact's 16s team as an assistant coach in 2006. Last season, I assisted the 17s team at YMCA Blaze. I am currently the head coach at Sammamish High School. I started with the Sammamish program as the JV coach in 2005, taking over as the head coach in 2006. I am IMPACT, CAP 1 & 2, First-Aid and CPR certified.

I started playing volleyball in 8th grade. That would mean that I've been playing for 18 years. Boy, time flies! I played on the Highland High Varsity team in California for 3 years as a setter and outside hitter as well as 1 year for High Desert Volleyball Club as a defensive specialist. I skipped playing in college for a small DIII school to pursue a civil engineering degree from Cal (University of CA - Berkeley), but continued to play on many coed 6s and indoor/ outdoor doubles teams. My women's team has competed at USAV Adult Nationals in the 5'8" and under division for the last three years placing as high as 3rd in 2005.

In 2001, I started Moxie Volleyball as a women's volleyball club and eventually started organizing and hosting coed tournaments for adults. I have helped send 2-3 teams to Nationals since 2005. In 2007, we added a juniors team and now have expanded to 4 juniors teams in 2008. Moxie operates as a not for profit. I am currently working on obtaining 501c3 status for the club, so we can continue to improve our fundraising capability for our junior, adult and community volleyball programs.

I am married to Jason Goldner. We have two wonderful cats that we spoil shamelessly. After working as a civil engineering intern for CalTrans, I decided this was not my intended career field. I worked for a few years in software sales then at various levels in enterprise software support. I currently work as a Business Data Analyst for WaMu, analyzing marketing data for various business lines. My dream is to run my own viable business.
