Michael Kuo
Assistant Coach 15s Team

I have been actively involved in the volleyball community since the early 1990s as a player on numerous championship intramural volleyball teams at University of Washington, as well as in various adult recreational volleyball leagues.  I also played volleyball competitively for several USAV teams over the last six years as a defensive specialist.  I have also gained valuable experience as a setter and outside hitter by participating in various regional and international tournaments.

My coaching experience involves working with the Junior Varsity team at Roosevelt High School and the Northwest Juniors Volleyball Club program as an assistant coach.  My coaching philosophy is simple.  Volleyball is a tool I use to demonstrate many more important life lessons that players will continue to master outside of volleyball.  These skills involve self discipline, collaborative team work, self motivation, navigating conflict and adversity, effective communication and leadership.  I incorporate these important life lessons into coaching volleyball with an emphasis on having fun while playing.  This is my winning formula for successfully coaching youth volleyball.
